SESH (Solar Energy Services for Healthcare) is a suite of technology and services that will ensure that both off-grid and on-grid clinics have continual access to clean reliable electricity. No more power cuts, no more failed medical equipment. With SESH, clinics are guaranteed reliable, clean energy, optimised for healthcare usage.
SESH is a radical new approach that ensures the constant provision of electricity. It is a combination of innovative hardware and software, networked into a broader platform that focuses on delivering energy services. Healthcare providers are given the tools and the data to allow them to clearly understand the relationships between their energy consumption patterns and their energy system performance.
Through the centralized management platform, the clinics are equipped with the tools to understand the performance of their system as well as guidance on how to best manage their energy consumption. As the clinics grow, the modular hardware design allows for easy expansion.
With SESH, healthcare providers receive system performance information on their phones. Lab technicians can receive valuable information such as notices for optimal energy times for running equipment such as an autoclave. The nurse receives a notice that she has left the lights on in the middle of the day. The administrator receives a graph showing energy production and consumption, allowing her to clearly understand her site’s potential for growth of energy demand.
SESH technology enables the data that enables reliable services. These services increase the value of the energy system to healthcare providers and healthcare officials. Reliable energy is the bedrock of the life saving services healthcare providers must provide. Reliable electricity allows lives to be saved.
MODULAR DESIGN
SESH uses a modular hardware design that enables rapid installation and expansion of solar power systems combined with a smart remote monitoring and control network to ensure ongoing peak performance.
The core of the system is the RMC (Remote Monitoring and Control) Module, which interfaces with the Power Modules and PV Modules to create an integrated power system for the healthcare provider. The RMC also reports to the central server, which communicates with end users, maintenance teams, ministry officials and funding bodies via web portal, mobile apps and SMS.
A SESH system can be installed in two days by a two-person team, reducing upfront costs by saving up to a week of specialized labour per site. SESH modular units “stack” together, allowing a facility to scale their system as their energy demand grows.
M&E REPORTING
SESH enables automatic real-time and aggregate reporting of system performance and energy usage. Aggregate reporting provides Ministry officials and funding partners with vital data on current energy access across all SESH enabled facilities. Thus enabling them to correlate clinic performance to energy access and accurately plan infrastructure needs.
RECOVERING LEGACY SYSTEMS
The RMC module can be installed on pre-existing power systems, thereby integrating them into the SESH platform. On non-functional systems, SESH can utilize existing solar panels and equipment that is still operable, thereby recovering millions of Euros of investment that is currently producing zero value.
